How to Get Rid Of Cellulite

January 8th, 2010

Cellulite may not be life threatening but it can certainly affect your life in a very negative way. If you’re ashamed to let even your partner see you naked, or you’re no longer comfortable wearing clothes which may show you cellulite then it has a debilitating effect on your lifestyle. Are you afraid to wear a bathing suit or shorts on the beach, even to play with your kids? It’s no joke is it? You can’t let it spoil your life. So what can you do about it? For a start, forget most of the stuff you read in the cosmetic company advertising for anti cellulite products. It’s not caused by a “special” type of fat. Scientific research proved there is no difference in the fat where your cellulite is or the rest of the fat on your body. Creams and gels may have a smoothing effect on your skin and it may appear less dimpled. But the keyword there is “appear”. Solutions like creams can only affect the external appearance of your skin, that’s why they can get away with such outrageous claims. The problem is not your skin, that’s just where it shows up. What actually causes your cellulite is happening in the muscles beneath your skin. If those muscles are flabby and soft and untoned they won’t hold your skin tight and smooth. So the answer has to be exercise. I know you may say you workout every week, you go to the gym or you swim 10 miles a week and you’re as fit as a fiddle. That’s good but general fitness routines or weight loss exercises won’t get rid of your cellulite. You need targeted exercises, just like different types of athlete use different exercises. You need to focus on your problem area with a special cellulite reducing program
